Bake Your Own Apple Pie Experience in Julian
Take a private tour from San Diego to Julian. Learn the interesting history of Julian and our guests even get the opportunity to bake there own Apple Pies! This is an amazing VIP experience! Julian was founded following the Civil War, when displaced Confederate Veterans from Georgia headed West to seek their fortunes in a new, mostly unsettled land. Fred Coleman found the first flecks of gold in a creek. It was San Diego County's first and only gold rush. The gold rush was short-lived, nearly over within a decade. But the pioneers stayed and began farming the rich land. While many crops were planted and animals pastured, Julian proved to be a fine place to grow apples. Apples continue to be produced in Julian. Their sweet, fresh flavor lures thousands to the mountains each fall, when visitors will find fruit stands overflowing with crisp fruit, homemade cider and other delicacies. Package includes round-trip stretch limousine service with complimentary refreshments from your point of origination.

Explore the beautiful Julian backcountry and sample the regions offering of fine-crafted local wines with one of San Diego's finest wine-tasting tours. But it is more than just a tour, it is an adventure excursion with a touch of class! Climb aboard a M35A2 Troop Carrier complete with stereo sound system. Then head out under canopies of oak and pine into Western scenes of working ranches, shady country lanes and vistas bursting with open sky. There are four leisurely wine tasting stops and occasional local point of interest. The first stop is the Menghini Winery with its picturesque grounds. Wander inside for a wine tasting while an exceptional barbecue of tri-tip beef and salmon or turkey is prepared outside on an open fire (vegetarian fare is also available - just let us know).
